London-headquartered consultancy and construction group founded in 1990 by professionals who left Bovis; in 2025-26 its consulting arm was partly sold to Goldman Sachs and separated from its construction business.

Mace was founded in 1990 by a group of construction and architecture professionals, led by Ian Macpherson, who left Bovis to bring a more collaborative way of working to the industry. It is headquartered in London, with Mark Reynolds as group chair and chief executive. Mace’s construction credits have included The Shard, Birmingham New Street station and the Emirates Air Line cable car. In July 2025 Goldman Sachs acquired a 75% share in Mace’s consulting business, which became a standalone operation in March 2026 with 5,200 staff, while the roughly 2,000-strong construction business is being rebranded.
