Verification and trust
Know exactly what you are looking at.
A property ecosystem only works when people can tell what is what. This page explains what verification means on GetLegacyHomes, what it does not mean, and how to stay safe.
A badge, a claimed profile and a listing are different things, and they are never presented as the same thing.
Why verification exists
People make large decisions about where to live and where to put their money. They should be able to see, at a glance, which information has been checked and which has not.
Verification exists to give visitors clear signals about a profile. It is one input to your decision, not a substitute for your own checks.
Listed, claimed, verified, premium and partner
These five words describe five different things. None of them means any of the others.
Listed
Information about a business or a property appears on GetLegacyHomes. A listing does not mean the business has joined, has been checked, or has any relationship with GetLegacyHomes.
Claimed
The business or person has asked to take control of a profile. A claim means someone has taken responsibility for the profile. It is not a finding that the profile has been verified.
Verified
The required verification process has been completed for that profile, and the team has recorded it. A verification badge is shown only after this process is complete.
Premium
The profile holder uses premium features. Premium describes a paid level of access and presentation. It is not the result of a verification check.
Partner
A confirmed relationship exists between the organisation and GetLegacyHomes. An organisation is only described as a partner when a partnership has actually been confirmed.
What verification means, and what it does not
What a verification badge means
- The required verification process was completed for that profile
- The status was recorded by the team
- The badge is displayed only after the process is complete
What it does not mean
- That GetLegacyHomes guarantees a property, a price or a transaction
- That a property has been inspected or a title has been confirmed
- That an investment will perform in any particular way
- That you can skip your own due diligence
How business profiles are claimed
Some business profiles start as informational profiles built from publicly available information. A business that recognises its profile can ask to claim it. The steps may be refined as the platform develops.
Find the profile
Locate your business profile on GetLegacyHomes.
Ask to claim it
Tell the team that you represent the business and would like to manage the profile.
Show your authority
Provide the information the team needs to confirm that you are entitled to act for the business.
Review
The team reviews what you have provided.
Status updated
The profile is marked as claimed. It receives a verification badge only when the verification process is complete.
How badges are shown
A badge appears on a profile only when the status it represents has actually been reached. A profile that is only listed does not show a verification badge, and a profile does not show a partner label unless a partnership exists.
If you see a status on a profile and are not sure what it means, come back to this page or contact the team and ask.
How to evaluate property information
Whatever a profile shows, these habits help you judge for yourself.
Check who is behind it
Find out who owns the property or who has authority to sell or let it, and ask for proof where that is appropriate.
Do not rely on photographs alone
Photographs show how a property was presented. They do not show whether it exists, is available or is being offered by the right person.
Visit before you commit
Where possible, inspect a property in person, or through someone you trust, before making any payment.
Read the documents
Ask to see the documents that support the offer, and consider having a lawyer or another qualified professional review them.
Compare
Compare price, location and terms with similar opportunities. An offer that seems too good to be true deserves extra questions.
Take advice
For significant decisions, including investments, take independent professional advice.
Staying safe
A few habits protect you on any property platform, including this one.
Never send money only because someone says they represent GetLegacyHomes
A claim to represent GetLegacyHomes is not proof. Confirm through the official contact details on this website before you pay anything.
Confirm ownership or authority
Where appropriate, check that the person offering a property owns it or is authorised to act for the owner.
Be cautious of urgent payment requests
Pressure to pay quickly, or to pay before you have seen the property or the documents, is a common warning sign.
Use official communication channels
Use the contact routes shown on this website and the messaging available inside the platform.
Protect your account details
Never share passwords, card numbers, bank details or one time codes with anyone.
Remember what a badge is
A verification badge does not replace independent due diligence.
Questions about verification
